On the 12th. October 2014 year for 29 time in the city. Sofia will be held the traditional Sofia Marathon – 42.195 km.

Conducting annual International Marathon Sofia this year will be support for . Sofia " forEuropean Capital of Sports for 2017 year. "

Once again Sofia Marathon will be the National Championship marathon for men and women.

Along with the marathon distance of 42.195km., There are three more distances, which will be:

3 km – fun run , 8 km and 20 km .

The competitors will pass along the route with the emblematic , cultural and tourist places of the capital, as the National Stadium "Vasil Levski", "Monument to the Soviet Army"- located in Knâževskata garden,, , "National Palace of Culture" and "Eagle Bridge".

In the vicinity of the route are, and other objects, as "National Assembly" – ( Bulgarian Parliament), Temple Monument "Alexander Nevski"- (the largest Cathedral St Balkan peninsula ), Historically, museums , Art galleries and excavations from the ancient Thracian town of Serdica .

The tour passes through the central streets of the capital and all of the long distance "Sofia Marathon" will be :

Start from the intersection of . "Evlogi and Hristo Georgievi" Blvd and . "Gourko" street, on the North lane in the direction of the NPC, on street. "Professor Fridtjof Nansen "turn right to the bull. "Patriarch Euthymii", then turn left to . "Vitosha" , still left on it at the entrance of South Park. After a tour of the alleys of the park route continues on . "Petko KARAVELOV" and the .
